I grew up in the Northeast, and Labor Day Weekend was the last “official” weekend in summer because the kids always went back to school the Tuesday after Labor Day.  I’m looking forward to a restful weekend @ the cabin.  It appears that we are going to have GREAT weather.  I’m bummed to miss church [...]

We’ve been getting hit with the remnants of Tropical Storm Faye for the past couple of days now.  Our area has had several inches of much needed rain.  Last night, around 2am, severe storms began with lightening/thunder, and lasted pretty much straight through 6am this morning.  Thus, little sleep took place.  Both of our dogs [...]

Kenny ~~

The Bateman clan had an AWESOME time tonite @ the Kenny Chesney concert.  Leann Rimes opened up for him, and she was really good.  Her set was about 45 minutes, and Kenny played non-stop for 2+ hours.  He did all of our favorites ~~ I Go Back ~ Don’t Blink ~ No Shoes, No Shirt, [...]

Red Cross Blood Drive ~~

Lonnie has been a faithful blood donor for many years.  If I’m not mistaken, I think it all started 10+ years ago when my Mom was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and a bone-marrow or stem-cell transplant were her only hope to save her life.  Lonnie and I both are “donor” applicants in the National Marrow [...]
