The Bateman clan is enjoying some time at the cabin. It is relaxing beyond words. The stress of everyday life just seems to disappear when we are here. Life here is VERY simple (HeHe — aside from the high-speed internet access)..! We walked the dogs down to the creek tonite, as we listened to deer running through the woods, and the awesome sounds of the Whippoorwills talking to each other. They are really cool birds that are noctural. They have quite a song, and if you’ve never heard them, you’d be surprised how loud a little bird can be.
Tomorrow, we are going to plant some flowers and clean up all of pollen that has bestowed the deck. We’ll take the dogs on a long walk down to end of road and their favorite creek spot. We may try to fit in some fishing before we have to head home tomorrow night.
It’s warm here, but it feels good. All the windows are open, and the breeze is flowing through the open windows. Both dogs are asleep at my feet. Both of my boys are already sleeping. I can hear the whippoorwills talking to each other in the dark night. The Dark here is really dark. Not like at home where “light pollution” keeps our night skies lightened. I guess that is why we have so many night-lights throughout the cabin. The best part is going out on the deck before bed on a clear night and just looking up at the millions of stars that light the way. Such a wonderful gift from God, that you can REALLY appreciate here.
