The kids are off of school today for Primary Elections, so it was a good chance to sleep in. This past weekend was busy, so today was a nice break. I enjoyed 2 cups of coffee this morning and read the newspaper on the deck. It was a beautiful day out – perfect temps, no humidity. I’d take every day like this.
Tuesday is “Ladies Lunch” day, so I enjoyed some fellowship with the ladies, with 3 boys in tow (Kyle, Grant & Brody), but the boys had their own booth and were quite content with that. After lunch, I took the boys to Nascar Speedpark and they got to play for a while, then we walked around the mall, ate ice cream (well, I did not have any), and the boys each had a few bucks to spend in KB Toys.
Kyle and Brody went swimming after we got back. Lonnie got a solar cover for the pool, and it’s warming up nicely ~~ Still too cold for me,,,,76. I like it in the high 80’s. Still contemplating an “End-of-school Pool Party” for Kyle’s friends. Last year we did it and it was great, but his class was much smaller last year, and we only had boys. This year, quite a few of his good friends are girls. Need to continue to pray over that one.
Tomorrow is our last PTA Board Meeting of the school year. I can’t believe how quickly this year has gone by. My PTA family is truly like a “family” to me, and I will miss seeing the ladies as often. I’ve committed to continuing to do the PTA Newsletter and Website next year, but will be actively pursuing someone that I can mentor and let take the reigns in both of those areas as soon as possible. I’ve loved being involved and active in Kyle’s school the past 5 years, but now is time to move on and let someone else take over. Next year will be Kyle’s last year @ HES.
Lonnie, Kyle and I are planning to get away to the cabin overnight Friday night through Saturday. Short stay, but any stay is better than none. We’ve got something special planned for our K-5 kids to do for their moms at church on Sunday, so we’ll be back to help with that.
Looking forward to Idol tonite. Hope it’s better than last week…!
